Today I am announcing that August 19 will be my last day as Children's Librarian. Bellevue Public Library has been a tremendous part of my life since I first brought my children here in the late 1980s. After almost 20 years of employment at the library, I am going to enjoy semi-retirement while exploring some volunteer opportunities. I look forward to focusing specifically on early childhood education by working with little ones and their parents in the Metro area.
It has been an honor and a tremendous blessing to work with such an exemplary staff, and to meet and share literature and life with so many wonderful children and families in our community.
While I'll still be at the library often - as a patron and a volunteer - I would love to see you and your family one last time before I retire. The staff will be hosting an Open House on Monday, August 15 from 3-6 PM. I hope you can join us for cake and refreshments, lots of laughter and photos... and some goodies for the kids!
