Seussathon 2014

Our 11th annual Seussathon, a 12-hour reading marathon, was held on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 9 AM to 9 PM.  I am glad so many people participated in this year's event!  This year's record-setting attendance was 321, which allowed us to surpass the 2,000 mark for total visitors over eleven years!  If you participated this year...we're glad you did!

"If you never did,
you should.
These things are fun,
and fun is good."
~ Dr. Seuss  (from One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish)

I would like to thank our wonderful sponsors for generously providing many of the snacks, drinks and prizes offered at this year's event:

ACE Rent-to-Own
Apples and More, a Learning Store
Baker's
Chick-fil-A
Domino's
Drizzles
No Frill
Pizza Hut
Runza
Shopko
Village Inn

I also want to acknowledge and thank our special guests who took time from their day to visit the library and read a few stories aloud.

Mayor Rita Sanders stopped by mid-afternoon to read to youngsters shortly before schools dismissed for the day:

Amanda Messerschmitt and her German language students visited over the noon hour to read some Dr. Seuss stories in German, as well as share other information they learned while studying the author and his life.

My thanks to everyone who helped make Seussathon so fun and memorable!  To see more pictures from Seussathon, visit Miss Tammy's blog by clicking here!
