Books:
Hands by Lois Ehlert
Dancing Feet! by Lindsey Craig, illustrated by Marc Brown
Good Night, Me by Andrew Daddo, illustrated by Emma Quay
Songs:
B-I-N-G-O
There was a farmer, had a dog
And Bingo was his name-o.
B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O,
And Bingo was his name-o.
And Bingo was his name-o.
The More We Get Together
The more we get together,
Together, together,
The more we get together,
The happier we'll be.
'Cause your friends are my friends
And my friends are your friends.
The more we get together,
The happier we'll be.
Activity:
I Clap My Hands
I clap my hands,
I touch my feet,
I jump up from the ground.
I clap my hands,
I touch my feet,
And turn myself around.
I clap my hands,
I touch my feet,
I sit myself right down.
I clap my hands,
I touch my feet,
I do not make a sound.
Thanks to all those who came out for tonight's story time! I always enjoy story times about hands and feet because of all the activity possibilities - clapping, snapping, waving, stomping, tiptoeing, dancing, etc. Here are some photos from tonight's event:
Children and adults were encouraged to use their feet to find
a creative way to enter the storytime room!
Momaha had a table of handouts, freebies, and a craft to make!
We used our hands to play with dinosaurs, sewing cards,
and building blocks before Story Time began.
Our library Friend, Luna, was on hand to greet children
as they arrived for Story Time.
Luna was in a silly mood when I took this pictures!
Can you guess what game she was playing
when these pictures were taken?
Reading Dancing Feet.
"The more we get together, the happier we'll be!"
"The more we stomp together, together, together..."
"The more we dance together, together, together..."
Saying "goodnight" to each part of our bodies
as we read Goodnight, Me.
Using our hands as we sing B-I-N-G-O!
Each child had the opportunity to decorate
a foam hand at the end of Story Time.
There should be a photo of yummy cookies and
ice cold milk here, but the cookies were
gobbled up so quickly that I didn't get a picture!
(Trust me...they were de-li-cious!)
Our thanks to Ryan and Jayme at
I hope many of you can come to next month's Momaha Bellevue Story Time. Our theme will be APPLES, and I am planning on having the children help me make fresh applesauce at the end of Story Time!
Our next Momaha Bellevue Story Time will be on Thursday, October 3 at 7 PM!
