Book:
Splash! by Roberta Grobel Intrater
Songs:
Hello, Friends!(tune: "Goodnight Ladies")
Hello friends.
Hello friends.
We're glad you came today!
(After singing the song I invite an adult to introduce him/herself and their child. We repeat the song, substituting the child's name for the word "friends". We do this until everyone has been introduced and all the children have been serenaded!)
Baby, Baby, Wash Your Hands
(tune: "Row, Row, Row Your Boat")
Baby, Baby, wash your hands. Baby's bath is fun!
Baby, Baby, wash your hands. Now your hands are done!
Baby, Baby, wash your toes. Baby's bath is fun!
Baby, Baby, wash your toes. Now your toes are done!
(For additional verses, come up with other parts of baby's body that need washing.)
These Little Fingers
(tune: "The Wheels on the Bus")
These little fingers go wiggle, wiggle, wiggle,
wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle,
These little fingers go wiggle, wiggle, wiggle,
And now they're on my _________.
With this song, the list of possibilities is endless! Our fingers may end up on baby's leg, nose, elbow, foot, ear, head, tummy, belly button, etc. And the actions can also be changed, so that our little fingers go tap-tap-tap, pat-pat-pat, rub-rub-rub, tickle-tickle-tickle, etc. Have fun with this one!
You Are My Sunshine
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You'll never know, dear, how much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

Our Group Activity was PUPPETS on Thursday morning and BOARD BOOKS for the evening program!
Our next Baby and Me Storytime will be Thursday, June 27, 2013!
Each Baby & Me Storytime includes activities that support one or more of the five early literacy practices identified as essential in helping your child develop the skills they need before they can learn to read. The five practices – singing, talking, reading, playing and writing –were developed for Every Child Ready to Read®, an initiative of the Association for Library Services for Children (ALSC) and the Public Library Association (PLA).
