Books:
Rabbits and Raindrops by Jim Arnosky
My Spring Robin by Anne Rockwell, illustrated by Harlow Rockwell and Lizzy Rockwell
Song:
Rain Song
(tune: "If You're Happy and You Know It")
First a little drop of rain hit the ground. Ker-splat!
(use hand to indicate raindrops)
Then another drop of rain hit the ground. Ker-splat!
(use other hand to indicate more raindrops)
Then another and another,
(continue, increasing speed)
And another and another,
And pretty soon we hear a different sound!
(cup hand by ear as though listening)
Splash! Splash!
(stomp feet twice)
I Wish I Was a Rabbit *(tune: "The More We Get Together")
I wish I was a rabbit, a rabbit, a rabbit.
I wish I was a rabbit, 'cause rabbits can hop.
They hop, and hop, and hop, and hop.
I wish I was a rabbit, 'cause rabbits can hop.
I wish I was a rabbit, a rabbit, a rabbit.
I wish I was a rabbit 'cause rabbits can munch.
They munch, and munch, and munch, and munch.
I wish I was a rabbit 'cause rabbits can munch.
I wish I was a rabbit, a rabbit, a rabbit.
I wish I was a rabbit that wiggles its nose.
It wiggles and wiggles and wiggles and wiggles.
I wish I was a rabbit that wiggles its nose.
* We ran out of time in Ms. Schliesman's class and did not get to sing "I Wish I Was a Rabbit" :(
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Peter Sarpy Elementary School today! The students were awesome listeners and great singers! Thanks for letting me share some stories from the Bellevue Public Library with you!
