Lions and Teeth and Libraries...Oh, My!

Presented at Bellevue Public Library on Thursday, November 7, 2013, in partnership with Momaha, the Omaha World-Herald's online community for moms.

We were fortunate to have THREE special guests with us for our November Momaha Storytime!

Our first guests were Carol Bicak, author of the new children's book "The Littlest Lion",

and Chris Machian, a staff photographer for the Omaha World-Herald, whose photos are featured in the book.

(This guy does NOT look afraid of lions!)

Carol read her story to the crowd, then answered questions from the audience. We also made copies available for sale and Carol  and Chris graciously autograph them that evening. If you have not read the book, or do not know the story behind this book, you can learn more from this Omaha World-Herald article.

Our THIRD guest was Kelsey Celek, an actor, teaching artist and playwright from The Rose Theater!

Kelsey brought two wonderful stories with her:

Mrs. Watson Wants Your Teeth by Allison McGhee, illustrated by Harry Bliss

~ and ~

Sophie and Sammy's Library Sleepover written and illustrated by Judith Caseley

Kelsey brought along a 4-pack of tickets to the Rose Theater's current production of "Big Nate", which were given as a door prize.  Our congratulations to the Olson family for winning the tickets!  Perhaps after you attend the show you can leave a review on this blog post!!

Speaking of door prizes, two lucky audience members won an autographed copy of Carol Bicak's book, "The Littlest Lion"!  We hope you enjoy your book for years to come!

We ended our evening with milk and chocolate chunk cookies, provided by The Cake Specialist.  We thank Jayme and Ryan from The Cake Specialist for their generous support!

Here are a few photos from the event:

Our next Momaha-Bellevue Storytime will be held on Thursday, December 5 at 7 PM.  In honor of its national observance on December 4, our theme will be "Cookies"!

I hope to see you there!
